I can’t believe we’ll soon be waving goodbye to 2017.. I feel like I barely said hello! This year has been one of my favourites, creatively. I have got stuck in on lots of fab projects and made some really good friends and connections with new clients along the way. I wanted to end this year reflecting on how much fun I had by sharing my top 10 favourite photos with you. Unfortunately there some photos that I took this year which I wish I could put into the top 10, but alas I have to keep them a secret for now. So without further ado…
For number 10 I chose a self portrait. I had not taken a self portrait in for what felt like forever, and the experience of taking this self portrait was thoroughly therapeutic and reminiscent of how I got into photography way back in 2006. See the full collection here.
Inspired by The Matrix films, I teamed up with designer and good friend Sydney Clark to create an action-packed fashion story. Mariana Gonzalez created a gorgeous dramatic hair and make-up look and Megan Rudling willingly and eagerly through herself round the grounds of the UEA. It was a gorgeous sunny day and I had so much fun working with a super creative team. See the full collection here.
This shoot was all about creating cool shapes and focusing on lines, shapes and repetition. Arleya is a dream to photograph! I’m so in awe of her. See the full collection here.
Dreamy colour combinations and a cool setting makes for a super excited Katie! I had help from a brilliant team who were a breeze to work with. Thanks Amy, Rebecca and Olivia! See the full collection here.
These colours!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely adore deep rich colours and dark tones. I was so happy when Beth and I stumbled across this location. See the full collection here.
Alex and Binks are sooo gorgeous together. When I was retouching this collection, I couldn’t help but make a little “awww” sound when opening each image. Fuzzy, warm, happy feelings are the best! See the full collection here.
I’ve never really taken night time portraits before, apart from at events like weddings or parties. Usually I take portraits of people in the daytime when the light is really even and flattering. However I felt like I wanted to experiment and push myself to try new things. I was really inspired by all things autumn. Gorgeous autumn tones, the darkness creeping in earlier and everyone retreating to their cosy homes. Becki and I headed out just as the sun was setting and the glow from the street lights and shop windows were pouring onto the streets. It was an achievement for me to try something new and different. I instantly fell in love with the photos and couldn’t wait to share them. See the full collection here.
Arleya has sneaked into the top 10 twice! Cheeky! This western themed shoot took a year of planning and co-ordinating between myself and Rebecca Morello. Arleya suited the western look, bringing edge and poise to the shoot. I was absolutely over the moon when Whim chose the photos to be featured in their magazine! See the full collection here.
I am so in love with the 70s. Kirsty Harris, Sophie Chittock and Beth Atkins brought my 70s vision to life with a warm colour palette and awesome textures. I was really inspired by Ruby James’ photography and wanted this series to reflect her feminine style. We were lucky enough to get these photos featured in the Untitled Collective. And just before I announce who made it to number one.. here are some honourable mentions..
This photo is my absolute number one. I love it soooo much! The lighting, the colours, how ridiculously gorgeous Helen Anderson looks.. uhh.. it’s perfect! It’s not just the image by itself that I love. I had such a brilliant time wandering round Urban Jungle with Helen. We were both as excited as each other exploring the jungle and I really enjoy Helen’s company. It was lots of fun! We plan to go back to Urban Jungle in the new year for afternoon tea :)
