My Photo Books Have Arrived!

Hooray! My Portrait and Wedding Photo Books have arrived and they are amazing!

The Portrait Book consists of family portraits, author shots, head shots, model portfolios, beauty and fashion. It’s really great to see my photos printed big. Nothing can beat a printed image! I arranged them by using powerpoint and putting each image in a separate slide. I could make the images flow coherently throughout the book. I kept the layout interesting by using either two images per double page spread, or using three plus photos per double page spread. Here are a couple of examples from the Portrait Book.

The Wedding Book tells a story from the bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony, formal photos, Wedding Breakfast, first dance and finishing the tale on evening events. Like the Portrait Book, I used powerpoint to arrange them and make the photos flow coherently. I used the element of story telling to make the layout interesting. For instance, I would use a set of photos from one wedding to use repetition in a meaningful way. I love to capture precious moments during weddings as they are so special to the happy couple and their friends and family. Here are a couple of examples from the Wedding Book.

I used Photobox to create these books and I can’t recommend them enough! I’ve used Photobox on many projects, both professionally and personally, and every time they deliver incredible quality and finish. I have used other companies but felt that the print was very muddy or the quality was lousy. I will certainly use Photobox again!

Easter Shoot

The overall look for the shoot was based around pastel colours because I was inspired by the innocence, sweetness and cute symbols of the celebration. I bought rabbit ears about a month before the shoot and desperately wanted to use them for something, so I got in touch with some amazing talents and put together and Easter themed shoot. Sabrina brought some wonderful clothes for Charlotte to wear, Carly did a wonderful job of five different make-up looks and Jen set up each scene so brilliantly. The plan was to go outside and shoot in the enchanting Mousehold Woods. However the heavens opened so we had to shoot indoors and put up my backdrop in the front room. I believe this was a blessing in disguise as the white backdrop helped towards the pastel look whereas a rich woodland might have taken away from the pastel colours. This video captures some really fun and interesting moments of what goes on behind the scenes!
