Lauren and Ross: A Countryside Wedding Full Of Love & Laughter (Part 2)

Just before the wedding breakfast, it was time for me to whisk Lauren and Ross away for their couple portraits. This is one of my favourite moments when photographing a wedding: it allows the couple to spend some quiet time together; we get to explore the venue’s grounds and they can show me some of their favourite spots as well as being able to have a laugh whilst taking some dreamy, romantic photographs. I loved spending this time with Lauren and Ross as we got to see a lot of the beautiful gardens and hidden treasures, which we totally made the most of!

Following the delicious three-course meal, the guests sat excitedly awaiting the speeches given by the father of the bride (Martin), Ross and Lauren. Martin delivered his speech accompanied by a photo slideshow, which told the story of his daughter growing up, meeting Ross and his advice for the future. His speech got everyone laughing and even shedding some tears. All three speeches were very touching, sentimental but also filled with big laughs.

The evening started off with a relaxed atmosphere as guests mingled inside and outside of the barn in the sheltered terrace. During the early hours of the evening, it started to rain on one side of the barn and the sun peered out from the clouds on the other. Ruth (the mother of the bride) and I, eagerly looked out of the window in hopes of seeing a rainbow. After a couple of minutes, our hopes came to fruition as a beautiful rainbow appeared. We turned to each other with excitement, “There’s a rainbow!” Ruth exclaimed. Together we ran over to Ross and Lauren to beckon them to take some photos by the rainbow.

As the evening went on, everyone gathered around to watch the couple cut the cake and have their first dance. Following this, we all went outside for a spontaneous sparkler photos. We all felt like big kids as we excited waved the flaming wands around in the air. It was brilliant!

Lauren and Ross’ wedding day was simply magical and I am truly grateful and honoured that they asked me to capture it for them. I had such a blast! Thank you for inviting me, guys! You rock! <3
